TIU Hosts 11th National Young Researchers Conference (NAYREC-2024)

 

Shayan: The 11th National Young Researchers Conference (NAYREC 2024), organized by the Physics Education Department of the Faculty of Education, was held on May 23rd, 2024, at Tishk International University. This annual event, now in its 11th year, continues to yield positive outcomes and foster academic excellence among young researchers.

All preparations for the conference, including organization, coordination, and evaluation of the abstract papers, were expertly handled by the Faculty of Education. The event was overseen by Dr. Pishtiwan Akram, the Conference Chair, Dr. Muhammad Hisham, the Head of the Scientific Committee, Mr. Sivar Aziz, the Head of the Organizing Committee, and Mr. Sebur Salih, the Conference Secretary.

The conference began with an inaugural ceremony led by Chra Idris Hadi, a student of TIU. Esteemed attendees included Asst. Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi, Head of the Board of Trustees, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Özdemir, Vice President, and Dr. Dogan Özdemir, Dean of the Faculty of Education.

The inauguration was followed by three keynote speeches delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi, Head of the Board of Trustees; Asst. Prof. Dr. Amir Abdulrahman, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education for Scientific Research; and Dr. Pishtiwan Akram, the Conference Chair. The conference theme, “Empowering Young Researchers Through Research, Positive Mindset, and Learning Opportunities,” was further explored in a keynote address by Mr. Jacques Tredoux, Principal of the British International School in Kurdistan (BISK).

Following the speeches, participants proceeded to their designated halls to present their research projects. The conference featured two sessions, with coffee breaks and a lunch interval. Researchers from other universities, including Salahaddin University, Soran University, and Hawler Medical University, also participated and presented their work.

The event concluded at 16:30 with a closing ceremony where participants, speakers, and organizing committee members were awarded certificates of appreciation for their dedication and contributions.
